Occasionally I will have a user that is not able to open pics (*.jpg, *.gif, etc.) from Outlook. They are accessing Outlook through Citrix Program Neighborhood, opening an email with an attachment and double-clicking the attached picture. Normally this will open fine in Micosoft Office Picture Manager (MOPM) but occasionally users will get a message in MOPM that says, "The selected locations are empty." Once a user starts getting this message they are no longer able to open pictures using that method. They are, however, still able to open pics by first saving them to disk then navigating to the saved location then double-clicking to open the pic in MOPM. Renaming the user's ts profile will allow a new profile to be recreated the first time the user logs back in. Once they are using the fresh profile things are back to normal and they can open pics from email attachments with no problems. Recreating profiles can be a hassle since customizations need to be reset, signatures, etc. I'm looking for a solution other than recreating the profiles for users.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions on this issue I would be interested to hear your input.
Thanks, George Phillips |

| Are you using TS Roaming Profiles. It sounds like the profile becomes corrupted and interferes with the application running. |

Hi, Marc! Thanks for replying. Yes, we are using TS roaming profiles. I've found some info online referring to temp folders getting full and causing this issue but when looking at the temp folder of the user I'm not seeing any files.
I suppose there could be a corruption in the profile but it just seems to happen to the same people over and over. If I must recreate the profile, is there a way to export the users' customizations, signatures, etc. to import into the newly created profile? |

We have a file server set up user shares for a Homedir and Profile. The Homedir is the storage location for user files. The Profile keeps the files copied to and from the servers.
How many servers do you have and where are the profiles stored? |

We are setup similar to you. We also have a file server with home folders and ts profiles.
We have many servers but the ones pertaining to this issue are the citrix server and the file server. |

I have the exact same issue and have been resolving it by re-creating the user's profile - which is not the preferable method, but it works. Did you ever find out a solution to this issue?
