In a new year's deal that will create an area technology firm with more than 200 employees and $140 million in annual revenues, Oldsmar-based Vology has acquired Tampa's Bayshore Technologies. Terms were not announced.
The resulting company will be called Vology, run by chief executive officer Barry Shevlin, who said he expects the firm to create more than 100 new, high paying jobs over the next two years. Bayshore will operate as Vology's professional services delivery division and will be run by Vology senior vice president and former Bayshore CEO Peter Anderson. Combined, the companies will pitch the new business as a one-stop provider of information technology services.
Vology was founded in 2002 as Network Liquidators and changed its named in 2010 to reflect it broadening business beyond selling used telecommunications equipment. Anderson co-founded Bayshore Technologies in 1997 after a soccer career that included several seasons with the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Bayshore provides IT support services.
"Although we serve clients around the world," Shevlin said, "we remain committed to the Tampa Bay area and to the community service that has distinguished both of our firms." Copyright 2013 Tampa Bay Times
